Application Notes

• For applications with low backpressure allowance, consider a combination catalyst/silencer to replace existing silencer.
• Non-serviceable catalyst units cannot be located downstream of packed silencers
• Ensure exhaust temperature regularly exceeds 750° F at the inlet of non-serviceable units.
• Non-serviceable units should not be applied to 2-cycle engines.
• Catalysts are formulated for 70% reduction of carbon monoxide (CO). For applications requiring higher CO reduction, contact Universal
• Ultra Low Sulfer Diesel(ULSD) fuel is required for RICE NESHAP compliance.

Maximum allowable differential pressure for catalyst device is the maximum allowable pressure drop across the catalyst housing or catalyst/silencer unit. This value should be less than the maximum exhaust back-pressure on the engine's specification sheet in order to allow for pressure losses in the existing exhaust system.
