Does RICE NESHAP Affect You?

In 2010, the EPA provided two final rulings on National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines (RICE). This ruling affects existing stationary engines using diesel (CI) and natural gas (SI) fuels.

The rulings are complex which make it difficult to understand how it may affect your engine(s). However, you're not in it alone! Universal is the foremost authority on RICE NESHAP compliance. We have presented at several power utility association roundtables on the subject, spent time discussing compliance requirements with the EPA and local departments of natural resources, researched the most economical ways to bring engines into compliance and developed specific products for RICE NESHAP compliance.
