DPF System Helps Energy Alternatives Comply with California Air Resources Board Standards
September 10, 2009
The Kroger Co.'s California distribution center recently purchased two 2-megawatt diesel engines through Energy Alternatives. To comply with the strict air pollution standards for diesel exhaust in the state of California, both engines were required to have California Air Resources Board verified Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) installed. In addition, rigorous acoustic silencing challenges needed to be solved. Universal Emission Technologies, a division of Universal, was awarded the project for the Diesel Particulate Filter systems because of their unique expertise in emission reduction and acoustics, and their ability to combine them in a single package.
Universal Upgrades GRU Filters
June 25, 2009
Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) Deer Haven Plant’s two GE Frame 5 filter houses were in dire need of an upgrade, for both performance and maintenance purposes. Universal was selected not only on account of their expertise in inlet filtration and exhaust stacks, but also because they had partnered with GRU on several previous projects, fulfilling their acoustic and emissions needs time after time, in a quality, cost effective and timely manner.
